Chaste: The Idea Impressario

He is an Event Field Marshal, organizer, and a man, whose heart lies with charity, including Brown Heart and Nigeria Mentoring Month. But above all, Chaste's passion is CREATIVITY and he runs CREATIVE FIVE WORLD COMPANY...A fast rising think tank company with clients like Ovation Red Carol, Nigeria Fashion week, US commercial service CTO, Grand return of the Nigeria Musical Award among many others. No event is complete without catching the glimpse of Chaste making an appearance for her execution.

LETS MEET CHASTE...THE IDEA IMPRESSARIO, BROWN SUGAR AND THE PIED-PIPER OF POTENTIALS

* Background

My name is Chaste Chris Inegbedion, a graduate of the prestigious Olabisi Onabanjo University. An Edo native and a speed of pure thought idea impresario.

* What is the motive behind CREATIVE 5 WORLD (C5W)?

C5W is a fast-rising think-tank company where we develop programmes and projects that would support a wide range of creative individuals and brands which include the Brown Heart that is primed to educate people to take steps towards not only maintaining lifestyles beneficial to their hearts but also spreading the word! Access to also supporting charity homes and projects. Other platforms include the Nigeria Mentoring Month (NMM) which is to celebrate the everyday, ordinary people who are making a difference for young adults and also passing their experiences and more.

* How did it all start for you?

In 2006, I worked as a contract staff for the new partnership for African Development (NEPAD Business Group-Nigeria) at the 2nd International Business conference in Abuja working as an event protocol and the liaison official with the event manager, Eventful limited and I was exposed to the different business sessions and most especially how the event were managed and conducted with a large network of top social guns and Business people from all over the world. This struck me as the best way to tap me into my creativity and I give the Ex. Minister of Industry Chief Mrs. Akande the credit of giving me the first chance in the event industry. Afterwards, the likes of Azuka Ogujuiba, Seye Kehinde, Funke Bucknor Obruthe and Mike Effiong have supported my growth in the industry among many others.

* Challenges so far as an Event Volunteer

The challenges are not limited to the fact that respect is reciprocal in the industry and you have to give room for that to get continuity in being on the spotlight most especially when your peers imagines you run a million naira account daily and when your client give you many excuses. There is a particular job in November and till date have not been paid. Charity is also a unique one, getting people to contribute is another hot-burn issue.

* Aside from events and charity, what else is Chaste into?

(.....laughs....) can their rooms for other activities I try to be digital savvy with facebook and am currently working on the Mike Effiong Digital Advocacy lot (MEDAL) as part of my project as an MDG facilitator to contribute to "My digital library" and ICT certification for GGSS Yola. We use this medium to appeal for supports. I volunteer also at the Lagos Cheshire home for the handicapped and holy family home for the elderly.

* What is the ideal of MEDAL?

The Mike Effiong Digital Advocacy Lot is one of my Millennium development goal(MDG) Project that is named after a good friend and mentor who is the editor of Ovation International Magazine with different platforms of the digital tree which would also be named after Gbenga Sesan, Deji Oguntonade, Bayero Agabi, Victor Okigbo, Don Pedro Aganbi,Dayo Adefila (These guys influenced me in I.T)Demola Fashola, Alleluia Attunyota, Naimat Samuel (A father who teaches at the GGSS and whose children made history at the AUN),Florence Seriki(A Role Model for the Girls), Leo Stan Ekeh among many distinguished Nigerians. As a serving corps member in Adamawa Yola, I intend to bridge the digital gap of providing multimedia tools and to sprout the vocational training in ICT and certification for the school community. Where spirited individuals, philanthropists and organizations would contribute to information, entertainment, communication and technology consciousness in Adamawa Yola of Northern Nigeria.

* HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE NIGERIA DIGITAL CULTURE SYSTEM?

Facebook, blackberry, twitter, you tube; Tunes and other social tools improve the advocacy lot of many. But adequate facilities and trainings on how to use them are needed to be provided and extended to the rural states. These tools are important and must be used to maximize growth among Nigerians against other social vices.

* TELL US ABOUT BROWN HEART AMBASSADORS?

One of our objectives is to induct various individuals to be ambassadors (brown heart ambassadors) who would represent a cross section of the society. These individuals would carry out occasional charity activities and importantly, influence their immediate environment by advocating healthy living.

* WHO ARE THE BROWN HEART AMBASSADORS?

They Plenty Oh! We have over 50 drawn from the media to business, fashion and social advocates and they include Chuks Nwannne(Guardian), Benny Obaze (Bevista), Toyosi Akerele (Rise), Shade Ladipo (Avienti), Dayo Adeneye, Femi Amusan( Ben TV), Please check the group on facebook for many distinguished nigerians who are families of the Brown Heart.

* WHAT IMPACT WOULD YOU SAY YOU HAVE MADE IN YOUR FIELD?

Every Year, I celebrate my birthday with charity and gather friends and families to contribute their quota to improve these lives. with the brown heart , we have engaged communities in Ogun, Adamawa,Lagos and other social communities to raise more than 800 volunteers to advocate healthy living. Thanks to Zainab Ikaz and our partners. Check the group on facebook (Brown Heart Campaign) but we intend to do more with the support of You, You and You.

* WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR DRIVING FORCE?

I Say Passion. The good thing about event and charity for me is not the highest paying job or the influence that it generates. I think I would have earned more if I had continue after my internship with the biggest hospitality industry years back, but what I am doing now is what I love doing. My colleagues call it 'my ministry' cause I can tell you the struggles and starvations that bothers on one's mind and the goodwill's that come the "morning" after. I attend events and I volunteer for "social" works, so anytime I see star-studded events with a non popular charity explored, I am happy and excited. This is what has kept me going.

* WHAT CAMPAIGNS HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN?

Pat Utomi Presidential Campaign, Brown Heart Campaign, Enough is Enough, Walk against Rape and as a member of the JCI, Rotary; Lion Families have been engaged in other voluntary campaigns and activities.

* ON THE 18TH OF JAN 2010, YOU CELEBRATED YOUR BIRTHDAY WITH MENTORING IN A SCHOOL, WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR STARTING UP SOMETHING LIKE THAT?

Everyone needs to be mentored, learn from positive experience. This is part of C5W initiative that caters for the celebration of the Nigeria mentoring month and martin Luther king Jr. Year of service. We gather the likes of Adebola Williams (Future Nigeria Project), Sandra Ajayi (Ovation) ,Atim Ikpeme (Champions), Debola Lewis (Yvent Kouture), Chuks Nwanne (Guardian), Biola Adebajo (Evergreens), Georgina Bellu, Celine Momoh, Seyi Martins (Superscreen), among other role models to engage the students of Nigeria Premier College (my alma-mater) and we concluded at the Holy Family Home for the Elderly for the charity soiree.

* IF YOU WERE MR.PRESIDENT?

The Youths would be appointed into positions for national development, adequate health facilities like the heart detection scan machine to be available in every home plus internet facilities in all rural areas .Then there is power!power!power!thats what I can think right now.

* RED WINE IS IT GOOD FOR THE HEART?

YES AND NO. It depends on the amount.

* WHAT ARE YOUR PROJECTIONS?

BY 2011, The Right candidate for Nigeria has been voted for.

That our programmes like the august visitor, heart voluntourism project, B.H.C Recipients of agent of media change for the heart and inductees of young at heart ambassador, where the heart lies, brown sugar, brown shirt for cure, water my heart project, mentoring Nigeria partnerships, experiment in International living and Medal would be adopted by individuals and organizations.

* A LITTLE BIRD SAID YOU ARE A LADIES MAN?

Do you know the meaning of CHASTE? Let's leave it at that. I try my best and keep cordial relationship with the female folks professionally and personally. But I kind of prefer the older ones.

* WHAT IS YOUR 'DROP-DEM DEAD' SIGNATURE?

I don't know if I should rate myself on a 77% percent and leave the 23% to charm and respect, because people do acknowledge my 'frown' to radiate inward creativeness, others might say he carries lots of burden on his chest. You may not be too gorgeous outwardly but being pleasant and nice is always a major advantage.

* WHO ARE YOUR FASHION PRINCES IN NIGERIA?

I have a collection of Clemas, Ouch, Kemka ,Sunrise, Clothsense. These are my favorite fashion princes and I give them kudos for believing in my sense of style. But looks forward to adorning the Mai and Martwayne label soon.

* YOU VE GOT SOME BIG FORTUNE NOW, WITH THE LINE UP OF EVENTS SINCE 2006, AN EMPLOYERS DELIGHT, HOW HAS YOUR FAMILY BEEN OF ASSISTANCE TO YOU, IN THIS LIGHT?

We thank the lordddddddddddddd...I give respect to everyone who has blessed me with their fortune to support my projects. When you talk of encasing wealth in terms of stocks you might be right but in cash we appeal to our clients to pay as at when due. my dad before he died was my greatest benefactor and he deserves all the credit I get and my mum,sibblings and not forgetting the great family that surrounds me who has play a great role in my education and I believe they would not stop.

* PLEASE DO MAKE A STATEMENT OUT TO THAT YOUTH WHO HAS A DREAM.HOW DO I MAKE MY DREAM COME TRUE?

Don't Throw that Idea under the bed, or make 'mouthful' exposure of that project expecting that 'conglomerate' or an 'Adenuga' to invest in it. But I don't mind an Adenuga taking an interest in mine (laughs) think positive, get the right audience to believe in it and be bold enough to go for it. Nobody who has taught an engineer would be a success (undergoing construction) in Entertainment. Don't see your discipline as a factor, there would be challenges, but train yourself, learn from others and swim in the 'CAN DO' spirit.
