LIL’ H: TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL

When we talk about Inspiration and those inspiring, we talk about the likes of Barrack Obama, Michael Jackson, Goodluck Jonathan, etc. but when we talk about inspiring the next generation, we focus our attention on youths and young people who are inspiring their generation and the generation after theirs and are making an impact in the lives of people and the society as a whole. That’s the case of LIL’ H, real names, Ahmed Tawati-Ojeikere. He’s an ordinary kid like every other; you should stay close to him to know what I’m talking about, but with extraordinary attributes. A rapper, who entered the music industry at quite a young age of 14, Lil-h has already started making an impact in the society through his project, SAVE A CHILD TODAY. He has performed at several events such as Rhythm Unplugged, Moments with Mo, The Future Awards and featured in videos of various artists. He spoke with ADA IGBOANUGO on his next step…

For those of you who probably are still in doubt, he is no midget. He is a healthy 15 year old, good-looking and growing kid. First of four kids, Ahmed admits that he could sometimes be a real jerk to his siblings. His parents who are always looking out for him encouraged him to follow his dream when he discovered his abilities from day one and they’ve been supportive of him since then.

A senior secondary straight A student, Lil-H is ‘VERY MUCH in school’ he says in defense to the numerous claims that he’s not.

‘’I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs like some young kids my age. I am a student who is doing pretty well in school and managing my music career at the same time”.

As a young kid in the musical industry, Lil-h does face challenges. Aside the

a epic rapper, H is currently working on his album under the record label of LAFACE MUSIC and is being managed by ERNEST RABBI.

“Though I still get offers from other record labels…music is great, inspiring. music in, my own opinion, is a piece of literature either sung, rapped or dramatized with a background of solid beat and a compilation of sound”

music has taken H far and wide. he's performed at so many events such as Rhythm Unplugged, Moments with Mo’s Inspire Africa Concert, to name a few. he's also won several awards.

“Basically, my achievement in the music industry has been great because for a youngster like me to actually make an impact in the industry is something else. It’s like a competition, a race that we all are running and it’s difficult because there are a lot of hurdles to jump. So my achievement is being a good performer that is able to rock the Mic and rock the crowd”'

he's still currently working on his pep project. A dream he's nurtured for quite sometime and finally got the ability to bring to bring it to life.

“It’s called SAVE A CHILD TODAY. We are working on compiling an album for kids, street kids who do not have the privilege that I and some other kids have. We want to make them feel proper and let them know that they are humans and they have a bright future ahead of them through music”

Life for him, at the moment, has been touring round the country promoting his album and shooting his video.

“I’ve been to Ibadan, Portharcourt, etc to perform at shows/events, my TV show on Silverbird is still on and I've got a show on Coolfm called let it out. So basically, life's good”.

Though he hasn't thought of a name for his album yet, proposed ideas lingering are either a self-titled album or something inspiring that might influence the course of the music and leave a positive impact on people. He recently shot his first video , S.O.S , and is working on some more for the end of the year.

Recently turned 15, Lil-h didn't celebrate his birthday like regular kids his age. Instead, he went to the Lagos state correctional facility at Ogba to visit the boys and give them a treat. he was inspired to do this after someone talked to him.

“he said 'your birthday isn't only about you.. its about you giving other people and touching as much lives as you can' that was my main objective when I went there and I'm happy I inspired them“

At a pretty ripe age for decision making, Lil claims that his career wouldn't just focus on music alone. “i would try my hands on modeling, broadcasting...basically entertaining”.

Hanging out with friends and playing video game is still a norm for Lil-h. That part of being a Lil kid is what keeps him in check. “My best so far is my PS 3 and of course my Blackberry”
